The 2009 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred to as the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2009 WJHC''), was the 33rd edition of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and was hosted in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Games were held at the Ottawa Civic Centre and Scotiabank Place. The tournament set a record for WJC attendance at 453,282.
